Nairobi
I am reading about the town of Nairobi, somewhere in Africa right now, in the book Say You're One of Them It sounds like a very, er, fascinating place to visit but not to live. Much poverty. I like reading about the different words they use there and things they practice.

Suburbs from Around the World
I created this blog as a resource for pictures and anecdotes about suburbs all over the world. For some reason, perhaps because I have never traveled too far away from my own region and culture, I wonder what everyday things look like in other countries and far-away, exotic-seeming places. I wonder what the popular exterior siding options are in China or Uruguay. Are there tree lined streets in South Africa? Are the streets asphalt or cement? Are there strip malls everywhere or just in crappy old New Jersey? Maybe there are little animals that run around the yards that I haven't ever even seen or heard of before. I will also be featuring pictures of food also.
If you have a picture of what your house looks like, or your street or anything you think might be interesting, please email me with it and let me know where you are from plus any other useful info that can be published here. Thanks!
